“Away from the Storm” was created in the midst of one of the harshest snowstorms in recent years—a time when the world outside felt heavy with silence, damage, and uncertainty. Yet inside the studio, a different reality emerged. On the canvas, I chose calm over chaos. Soft pastel tones became a quiet rebellion against the storm—whispers of hope, of spring, of renewal. While the cold raged outside, these colors carried warmth, light, and the promise that joy still exists, even in the darkest moments. The painting imagines happiness as something gentle and enduring—like a figure dressed in pastels, moving lightly beyond the storm. It is a refuge, a reminder that we can create our own peace, even when everything around us feels unsettled.
